KABAKA PYRAMID IN PHILLY

This is his 3rd time in Philly, and according to his words, this was the biggest turn out from Philly over the years... I dont know what dimension I was in when he last performed or how I missed him, but let me tell yall, that performance last night was totally worth the wait! I had been waiting so long to see this man live on stage, since 2014 after hearing 'Never gonna be a Slave'. I swore he wrote that song personally just for me, because it was so aligned with who i was becoming at that time! Even though he didn't play that one or the 2 others i really wanted to hear, 'Life is Everything' and 'Safe Right Here'. The show was still nothing short of amazing. The house was fully packed with a beautiful mix of people from all nationalities and walks of life.. It was truly a sight to behold. The lyrical diety was flowing like the River Nile, and delivering hit after hit. I felt like I was in a time capsule and Kabaka had just transported us back to the 90s. His highly conscious and fiery lyrics, high energy and connection with the crowd, stirred the same flames within me that the greats like Sizzla, Buju and Capleton had stirred when I was just a youngster. Everyone was fired up, and ready to go to war with babylon, with music as our weapons. What i really respect about Kabaka though, is his consistency in his message since he entered the game till now. Never wavering from the call to Unity, Righteousness and Knowledge of Self. Kabaka Pyramid has definitely earned his stripes amongst the elites, as an artist of quality, timeless and conscious reggae music. Songs like, 'Fade Away', 'Alright', 'Weeping', 'Contraband' and 'Believe in Myself', kept myself the audience fully engaged and rocking whole night.

Big up to the Bebble Rockers Band who held it down for sure. Special Shout out to the Promoters, Whagwaan Culture and the sponsor Nourish Philly who have come together to bring great Reggae events back to our city. Underground Arts was a great venue, spacious and unique, but you guys have to find a way to free up the Ganja at a Rastaman party in 2025. Respectfully!

The opening band SensaMotion was also a whole vibe, they definitely had me rocking. Some of the other peeps in the building last night, Amun Xkorpious Re , who won the tickets from Nourish cafe. The Camera man, Jamaal R Green who captured the night and Jacque Howard , co-host of my very first interview with Kabaka. Even though it was only 5 minutes long and I had alot more questions I wanted to ask, but I know that everything was perfectly orchestrated by Spirit just the way it was meant to be! It was by far the most magical, exciting and eye opening experience that I will forever be grateful for.

Big up also to my homegirl Giselle Logan, my bestie who went to the show with me! We always have a blast together but I was pissed off😠 because she made us leave befor i could greet Kabaka, get a picture and have him sign my T shirt. I was so mad, but say what, I'll get over it! I had a blast and the show was still everything i proclaimed it to be. 'A night to remember'. Philly loves you Kabaka! We need you back atleast twice a year OK😉 Love, Love and More Love.

❤️💛💚
